St. Stephen's Doctrine and Practice

St. Stephen's holds to the conservative belief that the Bible is the Word of God and final authority on all matters of Christianity. Reformed Episcopal doctrine is anchored in the Scriptures and expresses itself in evangelical preaching and liturgical worship. Salvation of the soul is by personal faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Savior of the world. Believers in Christ are lovingly exhorted to show their faith by living according to the moral standards of the Bible and by doing acts of mercy and compassion in the community.

St. Stephen's History

St. Stephen's started in April of 1982 as a mission of Bishop Cummins Memorial Church in Catonsville, Maryland. After meeting at the Freedom Community Center for more than nine years, the parish built and occupied the edifice on Liberty Road in November of 1991.

A Word from our Pastor

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

The purpose of this website is threefold. First, we wish to introduce you to our local church. We are a growing church that practices reverence for God in worship and daily living. If you are a Christian seeking a biblically-based and liturgically responsible church, we invite you to our services.

Second, we wish to introduce you to our denomination. The Reformed Episcopal Church combines the authority of Holy Scripture and the wisdom of the historic Church into a powerful revelation of God's Spirit and Truth.

Third, we want to introduce those outside the Church to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If we can be of service in helping you realize eternal life in His name, please call upon us.

May God bless you and keep you...

Pastor Jorgensen
